Biography: Ron TillotsonPerformance
Improvement Systems 1974 -- Received a BA in Liberal Arts from San Diego State Univ. Majored in journalism, minored in math. Graduated with honors and distinction in major. Won the California Intercollegiate Press Assn. Feature Writing Contest. 1974-75 – managing editor of “Aviation News,” a monthly tabloid newspaper for general aviation pilots. 1975-79 – Technical writer/editor for an international electronics manufacturer. 1978-9 – Partially completed graduate degree in journalism at University of Nevada, Reno. 1979-95 – Technical writer, then skills training specialist, finally management development specialist for a large West Coast utility company. Rated a “distinguished employee” for documenting a $6M computer project, and designing and presenting the training program. 1995-97 – Founded Performance Improvement Systems, a private training and organizational development consulting service. (Had to end this business to seek employment to gain medical benefits for family.) 1997-2000 – Office administrator for an international payroll company. 2000-01 – Senior learning specialist for a national pavement engineering company. Jan. 2000 to present -- Back to private consulting. Revitalized Performance Improvement Systems. Specialize in designing and presenting a variety of training programs to small- and medium-size organizations (to approx. 1000 employees); also provide organizational design consultation.
